The beautiful journey to becoming Mr. & Mrs.
Sravani Found Lars
One late April evening, Sravani came across an intriguing profile: a boy who spoke German and Hindi, painted, and practiced Indian classical dance. Curious, and wanting to know more, she swiped right. Seeing her like, Lars swiped right back—the best decision of his life. Following his gut, he skipped the usual small talk. When he learned Sravani was planning a hike with her dog, Max, Lars proposed turning it into a date by joining her with his dog, Masha.
A Six-hour First Date
Our first date was a hike at Valley Forge National Park with our pups, Max and Masha. After a few hours of hiking and getting to know each other, we weren’t ready to leave and continued talking on the grass by our cars until we got hungry. We grabbed a nice late lunch, ice cream, and pup-cups for the dogs. By the end of our six-hour date, both of us—and the dogs—knew we had found something incredibly special.
Making it Official
A month later, Lars officially asked Sravani to be his girlfriend, only way he knows how: he brought her favorite yellow roses, and made her cupcakes at home spelling out “Will you be my girlfriend?” Completely moved by his sweet gesture, Sravani, who was already falling for how kind, smart, funny, and wonderfully goofy he was, happily said “Yes”. Soon after, Lars planned a surprise three-night weekend getaway to Smith Island, a remote hidden gem on the Chesapeake Bay. Knowing how much Sravani loved stargazing, Lars thoughtfully timed the trip with the new moon and the Summer Solstice, giving us the clearest, darkest skies to look up at the stars together. On this trip we realized, our love is written in the stars.
A Proposal Worthy of 10,000 Idli
Months later, Sravani had a dream that Lars made her a massive platter of 10,000 idlis—her absolute favorite Indian comfort food. Hearing about her dream, Lars knew exactly how he should propose. He bought a ring and got straight to cooking. On a February evening, he picked her up from work and surprised her with a warm plate of homemade idli and sambar. As he dropped to one knee, Sravani was so excited that she happily shouted “YES!” before he could even ask the question.
See You in Delaware!
And now, we are so happy to be embarking on this next chapter together. From that very first hike, our lives are filled with full of love, silly moments, and endless laughter. Every day is a new adventure, but we are ready for our favorite milestone yet. We are absolutely thrilled to celebrate our marriage with you in Delaware next month. We love you all so much and cannot wait to dance, laugh, and make memories together!
